Sabbatical at Sea: One Semester, Three Classes, 10 Countries

“I love to teach and travel. This program does both,” said Professor of Economics Manijeh Sabi, Ph.D., who is spending her fall 2017 sabbatical on the faculty of Semester at Sea, a study abroad program set on a ship that offers credit-bearing classes as it sails around the world.

Q & A with Fulbright Recipient Shealeen Meaney, Ph.D.

Sage’s most recent Fulbright recipient (she is the sixth in recent years!) is teaching at Goa University in India this semester. She shares how the location connects to her expertise in travel literature; how the experience will enrich her teaching when she returns to Sage; and how Sage’s previous Fulbright recipients inspired her.

Trona Cenac RSC ’18 received a summer fellowship to work at a public charter school with a mission to prepare low-income students for college. The Mathematics major, who grew up on the island of St. Lucia then lived with extended family and friends while she attended high school in New York City, said her own teachers and a support system at Russell Sage College, have inspired her campus and community service.
